Who Counsels the Counsellor?

Who counsels the counsellor? It is a similar question to who pastors the Pastor in a church or who are church Elders and leaders accountable to and trained by?

I often think we take for granted that counsellors, pastors and other Christian leaders are now somehow exempt from accountability or further training because they are already in their leadership positions.
This cannot be further from the truth. I am not talking, necessarily, about more formal education but having someone (or more than one) come along side and 'check in' with these leaders and offer support, mentoring, encouragement and whatever else they may need.
I would hope that it would not be considered offensive to them to have some one 'sharpen' them as a brother or sister in the Lord.
It was brought to my mind that all of us are in need of accountability from the others in the body of Christ - we are not 'islands' or 'Lone Rangers'. Do each of us have accountability partners in our lives? If not, do we know where to find such people. Are we staying connected with like-minded saints? Do we know how to reach out and find help when we are feeling overwhelmed?
I am so thankful that there are many Biblical counselling organizations that offer workshops and conferences to help keep us all sharp in our 'trade'. There are many here on Social Media that welcome people to share their experiences, case studies, training material they have used, 'tricks and techniques' for effective counselling etc?
Locally (Kitchener/Waterloo Region of Ontario, Canada), we have several groups who reach out to other Biblical counsellors and organize small retreats and bi-annual meetings to help other counsellors.
Getting accreditation is one thing (and is important), staying current and keeping in touch with other counsellors is also necessary. Reach out and ask if any of your BC friends needs encouragement or help in their counselling ministry.
